Bylaws of the Raider Nation Booster Club
Article 1: Name and Location
Section 1. Name
The name of the organization shall be the Raider Nation Booster Club.
Section 2. Location
All Booster Club meetings may be held at Stevens High School, at a location selected by the Booster Club officers, or virtually as agreed upon.
Article 2: Mission, Purpose, and Structure
Section 1. Mission
The mission of the Raider Nation Booster Club is to enhance school spirit, provide financial support, and encourage community involvement to benefit students. Through dedicated fundraising, volunteerism, and collaboration, we aim to create a positive and enriching environment that fosters student success both in and out of school.
Section 2. Purpose
The purpose of the Booster Club is to:
Provide financial support for school activities, including fundraising and purchasing goods used exclusively by students, faculty, and staff at Stevens High School.
Assist in the maintenance and growth of all athletic and activity programs.
Support the development of new activities and athletic programs when appropriate.
Section 3. Structure
The Booster Club shall comply with Stevens High School and Rapid City Area School (RCAS) District policies and procedures. Upon dissolution of the Booster Club, any remaining assets shall be distributed exclusively to the Stevens High School Activity Director’s (AD) Raider Club account.
No officer, coordinator, chair, or member shall receive compensation for any services rendered to the organization.
Article 3: Attendance and Membership
Section 1. Attendance and Membership
Meetings are open to parents, legal guardians, faculty, staff, alumni of Stevens High School, and interested community members. Activity leaders, coaches, or team representatives are encouraged to attend meetings.
Section 2. Membership Qualifications
Membership is open to any adult who agrees to uphold the policies, purpose, and Bylaws of the Booster Club.
Eligible individuals become members by paying the prescribed yearly membership dues.
Staff and team sponsors can be members but are not eligible to vote in cases where a conflict of interest arises (e.g., funding votes).
Section 3. Active Membership
Active membership is maintained by:
Staying current with dues payments.
Attending meetings.
Volunteering as desired.
Participating in voting.
Section 4. Membership Levels
Basic - $50.00
Raider $100 - Two Stickers or One Decal
Blue Raider $250 - Raider Membership + One Adult Activity Pass or Three Student Passes; One Yard sign
Silver Raider $300 - Blue Membership + One Shirt and Name on Website Scroll and in the Program Books
Royal Raider $500 - Silver Membership + Additional Adult or Three Student Passes; Additional Adult Shirt
Additional Donations will be accepted.
Section 5. Membership Drive
Two membership drives will be held annually: one early in the Fall Semester and one during Freshman Night in the Spring Semester. Dates will be determined annually.
Article 4: Officers, Class-Level Coordinators, and Committee Chair
Section 1. The Activities Director
The AD and presidents/co-presidents will decide how communications are delivered between the Raider Nation Booster Club Board and members.
The AD serves as a tie-breaker in decisions and has the final authority on matters to ensure compliance with RCAS policies and procedures.
Section 2. Officer, Coordinator, and Chair Qualifications
Any member in good standing may serve as an officer, class-level coordinator, or committee chair.
Officers:
The Booster Club's officers, known as the Executive Board, are responsible for the management and operation of the organization. Officer positions include:
President/Co-President
Vice President
Secretary
Treasurer
Other positions, such as Assistant Secretary, Assistant Treasurer, Media Specialist, and Website Coordinator, may be included on the Executive Board if agreed upon by current officers. Non-required positions can be added during the calendar year if needed.
Elections and Appointments:
Nominations will be held at the monthly March meeting, and the elections will be held at the annual meeting in April.
The President and Treasurer shall serve two-year terms, elected in even-numbered years.
All other officers and coordinators will be elected or appointed annually.
There are no term limits for any positions.
Section 3. Officer Responsibilities
President/Co-President: The President is the leader and primary representative of the Booster Club. The President holds fiduciary responsibility for the Booster Club and coordinates annual audits of the Booster Club’s financial records. They are also responsible for the overall operations of the Booster Club, and filling vacancies for volunteer roles. The President also provides direction for the Booster Club, ensuring that all Booster Club activities are in line with the mission of the Booster Club. The president will coordinate with the Activities Director in regard to the direction and other operations of the Booster Club.
Vice President (VP): The Vice President assists the President and may oversee fundraising efforts. The VP also serves as the liaison between Raider Nation Booster Club and other school-related Booster Clubs.
Secretary: The Secretary keeps all meeting records and communicates with members about upcoming meetings, events, and activities. The secretary will send out meeting minutes to the Executive Board for review in a timely manner.
Treasurer: The Treasurer manages the Booster Club's finances, tracks income and expenses, and works with the President to ensure annual audits of financial records.
Media Specialist: The Media Specialist manages the Booster Club’s social media accounts, creates posts, and assists with marketing the Booster Club’s events and activities.
Website Coordinator
The Assistant Secretary and Assistant Treasurer will coordinate with the corresponding officers and assist in their duties.
Section 4. Class-Level Coordinators
All class-level coordinators will work with the president/co-presidents.
Senior Coordinator: Coordinates senior activities in collaboration with the Senior Staff Advisor.
Junior Coordinator: Coordinates junior activities, in collaboration with the Junior Staff Advisor, including prom and post-prom.
Sophomore Coordinator: Coordinates sophomore activities with the President of the Booster Club.
Freshman Coordinator: Coordinates freshman activities in collaboration with the President of the Booster Club and assists with Freshman Night and the Freshman First Day Assembly.
Section 5. Committees
If committees are needed, they will work together with the president/co-presidents. Committee chairs and members will be determined by the president/co-presidents.

Section 6. Compensation
No officer, coordinator, chair, or member shall receive compensation for any services rendered. Officers and members may be reimbursed for reasonable expenses incurred while performing their duties.
Article 5: Financial Policies
Section 1. Fiscal Year
The fiscal year of the Raider Nation Booster Club shall align with the Rapid City Area School District fiscal year.
Section 2. Budget
The Treasurer shall prepare the annual budget by the annual meeting for the upcoming fiscal year. The budget will include projections of debits, deposits, and donations and will be submitted to the board for approval by the end of the fiscal year. Once the Board approves, the budget shall be shared with the Activities Director by mid-July. and be presented to the members for a vote during the August monthly meeting.
Section 3. Debits and Payments
All payments over $100 shall require the approval of two authorized officers: the President / Co-President or the Vice President.
No single unbudgeted expenditure shall exceed 10% of the approved amount or $300 without Board approval.
All checkbooks and debit/credit cards will remain in the Activities Office or with the President during extended closures.
Section 4. Fees, Receipts, and Donations
To be reimbursed, a receipt must be provided.
The Executive Board or committee members must provide written or email receipts for donations $250 or higher.
Checks shall be made payable to “SHS RNBC”, “Stevens High School Raider Nation Booster Club”, “RNBC” or “Raider Nation Booster Club”
Section 5. Online Orders
Any online purchases should be made using the Raider Nation Booster Club email account. Credit card information will not be stored with online retailers, and only authorized officers may place orders.
Article 6: Amendments
Section 1. Amendment Proposal
The Board will review the Bylaws annually and may propose amendments at any time. Any Active Member may submit a proposed amendment in writing at any time at least 2 weeks before the annual meeting.
Section 2. Amendment Approval
Amendments to the Bylaws must be approved by a majority Board vote.
Adoption of Bylaws
These Bylaws shall govern the operations and administration of the Raider Nation Booster Club.
